Description
Botox is derived from the bacterium Clostridium botulinum and works by blocking the release of acetylcholine, a neurotransmitter responsible for muscle contractions. It is injected in very small amounts directly into specific facial muscles to temporarily relax them and reduce the appearance of wrinkles.
Consultation
Before undergoing Botox treatment, a consultation with a cosmetic surgeon is necessary to evaluate your skin condition, discuss treatment goals, and ensure you are a suitable candidate. Patients with certain medical conditions or allergies may not be eligible for treatment.
